Radford University • Radford, Virginia

A 178,000-SF New Building Supports an Innovative Mix of Educational Programs

The multi-storyArtis Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity at Radford University will support a pedagogy integrating educational programs in the arts, health sciences, and technology. The largest capital construction project in the university’s history, the $101 million project will feature a dynamic mix of academic programs and serve as a campus hub.

The center will offer classrooms, clinical simulation training suites, performance venues, studios, maker spaces, computer centers, and virtual and augmented reality labs. Collaborative spaces will facilitate dynamic teaching and research, along with office and other academic support functions throughout the building. Specialty areas also include an instructional auditorium, theater, metal-working shop, photography suite, health science clinical lab spaces, painting and drawing studios, and music and dance studio spaces.

Mueller’s MEP engineering solutions will augment the university’s goals to achieve lower maintenance costs than the aging buildings currently in place due to the energy-saving systems designed by our engineers.
