The new 42,000-square-foot visitor and history center at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello will accommodate ticketing, orientation, exhibitions, exhibit storage, retail, and food service, along with space for educational programs and a discovery room. This LEED®-Gold project features geothermal heat pumps, variable air flow units, water-conserving plumbing fixtures, central lighting controls, energy use monitoring, carbon dioxide sensors, and efficient HVAC equipment.
