The new Arts and Humanities Instructional Building at Howard Community College features 78,000 square feet of space with separate wings for the visual and performing arts. The building adjoins the existing Arts/Administration Building and the Smith Theater. In addition to a number of studios and design labs, the building contains a black box theater and a theater multimedia lab, as well as a large commons that also serves as a gallery. Mueller provided complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services for the project, which includes a self-contained heating and cooling plant and is connected to the campus high-voltage electric, gas, water, sewer, storm, and fiber optics utility systems.
