A new three-story academic building located on JHU’s Homewood Campus, Hodson Hall has been described as “bursting with high-tech amenities,” according to the university’s magazine. The building houses classrooms, lecture halls, a 485-seat auditorium, and an 80-seat boardroom. Features include professional sound systems, data and power ports in every chair, and wireless Internet access. Audio-visual technology includes touch-screen podiums and state-of-the-art presentation systems. Mueller designed a dedicated air handling system for the Hodson Archive, providing precise temperature and humidity control; dedicated constant volume air handling units for the auditorium and boardroom; and VAV air handling systems for classrooms and support spaces. In addition to all mechanical and electrical engineering, Mueller provided lighting design, including a building-wide lighting control system interfaced with AV controls.
