Folger Shakespeare Library Featured in Papyrus Magazine

With a series of upgrades to several air handling units, Mueller Associates is helping the Folger Shakespeare Library protect its world-renowned collection of Shakespeare’s works. The Spring 2013 issue of IAMFA’s Papyrus magazine details the critical engineering achievement, completed within the library’s historic Capitol Hill building in Washington, D.C.
National Academy of Sciences Wins Awards – March 2013
The renovation of the historic National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., has been recognized with two major awards. Mueller Associates has received the 2013 Craftsmanship Award for Electrical/Lighting Systems from the Washington Building Congress. The project involved restoration and select replacement of historic components as well as the incorporation of a skylight with building-integrated photovoltaics. The project has also received the 2013 Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation. Mueller worked with Quinn Evans Architects on this complex project, located along Constitution Avenue.
Sant Ocean Hall Featured in Architect Magazine
The Smithsonian’s Sant Ocean Hall at the Museum of Natural History has been featured in Architect magazine. Mueller Associates was teamed with D.C.-based Quinn Evans Architects on this highly visible renovation and restoration project.

The John and Frances Angelos Law Center at the University of Baltimore, designed by Behnisch Architekten with Ayers Saint Gross, has received a USGBC Wintergreen Award for Innovation in Sustainable Design. Mueller Associates provided mechanical engineering for this distinctive new building.
Baltimore Museum of Art Featured in Papyrus Magazine – Spring 2012
Highlights of the renovations to the Baltimore Museum of Art, designed by Ziger/Snead with Mueller Associates, are featured in the spring issue of Papyrus magazine. The article, “Renovating the Baltimore Museum of Art,” explores the major capital improvements underway at the museum, including renovations to the East Lobby, three major galleries, and the building systems. Mueller Associates has been supporting BMA with engineering services since the 1970s.

Mueller’s work on the circa-1924 Washington, D.C., headquarters for the National Academy of Sciences is featured in The Architect’s Newspaper.
